We live in a country with a humongous population and few states have a really dense population ratio. For the growth and development of this population, it's necessary to build a strong economy and bring big manufacturers and businesses to start industries, agencies, firms, offices, Malls, and many more. But with all of the companies also have responsibilities of safety and security of their employees and staff. Alone fire accidents in India take so many lives such as we saw before in Telangana, Delhi Uttar Pradesh Bhopal and Mumbai, and many more. So the government took these accidents seriously and announce a circular to all businesses and industries that is became mandatory to have a Fire NOC Certificate or license for any kind of factory set up, for malls, theaters, hospitals, or any type of commercial or residential building.

Importance of Fire NOC in India.

Fire No Objection Certificate is a way of ensuring a property is fireproof and in any emergency, conditions it can handle and reduce the casualties. NOC for fire is required for any building having a height of more than 15 meters which is issued by the department of fire or In a few states, it is issued by a municipal party. That NOC given by department is headed by chief fire officer or by deputy fire chief officer and assisted by are fire officers or inspectors. Fire NOC certifications not only ensure people's lives who are living in them but prevent serious financial losses which can happen from fire accidents.

Documents Required for Apply  Fire NOC: -


  • 2 Copies of the proposed plan of the building from the building authority,

  • Copy of existing NOC agreement, if any.

  • Architect certified check-list

  • Application form

  • Building model

  • Certificate of electric wiring quantity and completion from a recognized authority.

  • Outside Photograph of the building

  • Address and identity proof of the directors

  • Registered office address proof.

  • Filed questionnaire

  • Building stability certificate.


Process for applying for Fire NOC License or Certificate: -

Step 1- Submission of Application to CFO or Deputy CFO

After filing or applying for fire NOC Deputy CFO verify all the documents and applications submitted by the applicant. And after that, he sent the application to the local area fire officer to go and inspect the whole building and check all the fire safety requirements and precautions are there and properly installed.


Step 2- Inspection By The Fire Officer of That Area.

Step 3- Allotment of FCC. 

After getting the verification and FCC from the local fire department and fire

his property. that ensures that a particular building is safe from all fire situations

and people are living there are safe.


Step 4 - Granting Fire NOC: -

Validity of Fire NOC:-

Validity of fire NOC varies from state to state such as in Telangana its 5years and in Delhi it's 1-5 years and so on.
